Ragebreed Magazine will be re-released with the CD Compilation once we have re-done and completed Klassic Korner due to a member of staff leaving and he will be using his work for another magazine therefore no monies are owed to him and his compensation is due from the magazine he will be using his interviews/reviews for. We also experienced delays with CD and merch suppliers as their suppliers closed from COVID. Therefore we are now teaming together to get the revised section done for Issue 1.
The challenges we faced was the work he sent to us was in mp3 format and not as text. That would be fine for the radio but not a text based magazine. The interviews were unedited and lasting nearly 2 hours for some. He did not have time to transcribe as he was working long shifts so we purchased a transcribing program but it did not do the job accurately. So not only did we have to do the work for him but we fell into issues because the sound was not clear and so we needed him to proof read for errors. He did not mention any faults with the pages so we published once we sent his pages to be approved to which there was no objection which is why we published. We were aware that as our first magazine, we may run into small typo issues. Many magazines have reported to me that nothing ever goes perfectly for them either. So it was a relief to know this sometimes happens. Our fault was to publish with typos in the magazine even though all media account managers were asked to check for typo or grammar errors.
However having been friends for a long period of time, the way it was handled by him was brutal. As opposed to coming to me directly and letting me know the issues, he decided to leave the group chat with no reason, blocked me, publicly bad mouthed Ragebreed Magazine and then lied about us owing him a set fee of money. Later we found out he was trying to get money out of us to pay for a lawyer to see his children. He did not have a contract because once the first issue had been completed every media account manager and media account sales manager would be selling the magazine via their pages as 50% commission so a contract was going to be made after the issue was completed to see what percentage was needed as some have done two sections as opposed to one section. We do not pay set fees because we are a micro company working part time and in growing stages. We experienced hacking in 2019 so all our funds were drained from the bank account. He was aware of this. He knew what the situation was in terms of interviews. We don't charge for interviews and reviews, we only charge for ads and compilation packages. As he wasn't a media account sales manager, he was a media account manager his commission would have been made from the page sales.
Then his lies spread over the internet trying to bring down the Ragebreed name. Therefore we had affiliates asking questions so we had to publicly put up a statement regarding this. Shortly afterwards I got sick and was in hospital for a week and had to deal with my brother and his partner getting COVID and were sent to hospital. As you can imagine these challenges have been significantly difficult. On top of this public slander and harassment as a result due to the damage he has done. However, we are determined to keep the Ragebreed Magazine going and growing. We do not wish to harm anyone but where character defamation is present, we absolutely must clear any rumours. As a result of the malicious gossip my blood pressure went to 200 and now on blood pressure medication due to stress. Therefore we are going to do 4 magazines a year as opposed to bi-monthly.
Now I am back from hospital, I am currently sending off interviews and getting the reviews done along with my staff so we can complete Klassic Korner. We are getting new suppliers that can get the CD done as a matter of urgency. We will send off the CDs once they have been done and we will also advise people of when the re-release date is. We do apologise for any inconvenience caused but we do aim to send the revised issue, password protected once it has been completed along with the compilation CD.
We felt it was important to get the truth out there and we wish no harm to anyone but just explain things exactly how they were without the truth being distorted. Once we have the interviews back from the musicians, we will have an idea of when the re-issue date will be and once we have a date of when the CD will be done from new suppliers, we will be in touch with the buyers.
As a result of this situation, we are being very transparent about our business online, we are also going to get in a professional proof reader to check through the magazine for typos and ensure all account managers are actively spell checking and grammar checking everything. So it will have 3 checks before publishing. The managers, myself and the proof reader we will hire in the future. We always aim to grow back stronger as that is how winners are made. Winners are not born getting everything completely right, they make mistakes and learn from them and become better at what they do. I should have triple checked and I take the responsibility of not proof reading it one more time even if this staff member didn't do his work accurately or in the format that was required. Ragebreed will continue the magazine, radio, promotions and everything we do despite the challenges we face because we love what we do.
Our aim is to serve the rock and metal community by helping bands, groups, affiliates, businesses, charities/not for profit organisations grow. Whether you do voluntary or paid services doesn't matter to us, as long as you have heart in what you do and it is done ethically.
